Forgotten History of Pittsburgh Jazz

  • Monroeville Library 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd Monroeville, PA 15146 (map)

With Joseph Kennedy IV

Pianist, arranger, and historian Tom Roberts rescues the forgotten history of the roaring twenties through the early years of the depression in Pittsburgh jazz.

The lecture includes rare recordings and video performances as well as extremely rare reviews and advertisements from the press of the day. The lecture focuses not only on the accomplishments of such well known figures as Earl Hines, but also on the lives and recordings of others who have slipped through the cracks of time.

We will see and hear their legacy remembered!
