The Charlie Chaplin Silent Picture Show

  • Mothlight Creative 5738 Baum Blvd Pittsburgh, PA 15206 (map)

Tom has written new original scores for many Chaplin films, and has performed alongside these films everywhere from the Hollywood Theater to Heinz Hall.

This is your chance to see the show, complete with Tom performing his original scores for The Rink, The Pawn Shop, and Kid Auto Races at Venice CA.

Tickets are $10

The great clarinetist Mary Beth Malek will be performing with me on this concert/screening. If you haven’t heard my scores with the recently composed clarinet part, you are in for an incredible treat.

I treat the clarinet as another voice, not simply duplicating the melody throughout. I worked over a year and a half composing the score for The Pawn Shop. I have created this new clarinet option for the show and it has added a considerable new dimension to the work.

The score for Kid Auto Races is also augmented and is based on the full orchestration that I composed last year in honor of the 100th anniversary of the first films of Charlie Chaplin.
